I can't believe my baby is turning 6 tomorrow! Well 5:54 pm to be exact so technically she'll still be 5 until dinner time :). She says she will still love us when she's six! I hope so!!! Sunday we had her dream Star Wars birthday party that she asked for months ago. I've never been so relieved to have something done and over! We worked so hard to get everything special and it all came together perfectly with help from our Jedi Trainer Uncle Chris. We had just the right number of kids and I never just had a bunch of kids looking at me asking what they could do next. And now you know it's something good when very parent whips out their phones to take pictures.
Chris and Eddie and Lilley got here first so we could practice what he had to do with the kids. Meanwhile Eddie spent some quality time with my mom chasing her with the lightsaber pool noodle and smacking her butt! Mom was having fun and finally threw him down and tickled him until I thought he was going to pee his pants. The other kids arrived and ran around for a while before settling in to some activities- Star Wars coloring, making a Yoda craft, and Death Star corn hole. I don't know what I would have done without my parents there helping set up and watching for arrivals and most important, pointing the pizza man in the right direction!!! Finally it was time to dress the kids in their Jedi robes (which I had just finished that morning). So they practiced with their light sabers with Jedi Master Chris and then......we heard the death march and Darth Vader burst through the gate! The younglings forgot their training and just bum rushed poor Darth Vader and nearly knocked him backwards!! Hilarious!!! Then they each took a turn with only two kids not fighting the dark lord. They used the force and banished Vader from our planet/backyard! Then he came back for pictures with each kid. Again, some just didn't want to go near him even when we told then it was just Josh. Nope...not happening. Then it was piñata time!! The second kid with the stick completely ripped it from the string so Josh was brave so each kiddo could take a swing (no blindfold) and held the piñata while they hit it. Everyone got a huge bag of candy to take home! You're welcome parents!
Then the cake amazingly made by my friend Sarah. Yoda was a big hit with kids coming back for seconds. All the kids had a blast and Ryan asked his mom for Star Wars party. Haha. I pass the torch on to someone else. Next year......I don't even want to think about it!!
