While we waited for Nana to come Juliette was in a pretty good mood so I tried a little lesson. I wrote the numbers, she covered them with smartees and then got one if she traced the number by herself. She liked that idea. She did a great job tracing and only struggled with the 4.

Not again....
Well here we are again with the croup. Yep..she woke up from her nap with that cough. We ran her to the Patient First office that's open late and she got steroids and a breathing treatment. I made an emergency call to Nana and Josh went up to Baltimore and met them halfway and now we have Nana for the week with Juliette so she won't infect any of the other kids and won't pick up anything from them either since last year her having croup turned right into bronchitis. She has a doctor's appointment tomorrow with her pediatrician and we'll see what she says. Last night Juliette just kept saying I don't feel good. Broke our hearts.
On a brighter note, she was quite happy before her nap on Saturday and discovered my old view master and loves it because I have old Disney slides. She even figured out how to work it after a few tries. Then she thought it was a camera and tried to take a picture of us with it :).

Her new drawing spot
For some reason, Juliette loves sitting on the counter and drawing. Last night she wanted to trace her hand.
Batteries ARE included and Happy Valentine's Day!
I finally put the new batteries in my camera and have a lot to upload that I took of Juliette yesterday with her flowers from her favorite Valentine- Daddy. She was excited about sharing cards this year for Valentine's Day and a few weeks ago we made her handprint projects that I can now mention since everyone got theirs in the mail :). Last night she tried tracing my hand on a piece of paper for some reason so I've got ink all over! Tonight will be quiet since Josh has bowling---yes on Valentine's Day. It's not as bad as when I had conferences...that sucked.
Some news...umm....not much. We are excited about the new school calendar beginning after Labor Day for the first time since 2005 or 2006. But if we go back to before Labor Day for '14, that summer is going to be super short. For now everyone is happy with this especially long summer- June 6- August 26 (we go back the week before the kids). This year we were back on August 13th! We will be loving the extra time home and in Pennsylvania. Kings Dominion here we come! Plus we get two full weeks off for Christmas next year.
Juliette is loving her fish tank and loves feeding them in the morning, when we get home, and before bed. She always gets worried if she doesn't see both fish. Their names? Why Nemo and Dory of course! She will tell you that they are zebra fish and like to swim together.
We had a scare the other day with one of the fish kind of hovering near the top, but now it's fine :).
I swear I don't know where Juleitte comes up with some of the conversations we have in the car. She said that the sun was going down and maybe singing a song would make it come out again. Then she said she knew what would work- she would go to sleep because everytime she woke up, the sun was up--that would do the trick (her words).

Be gone Satan! (Juliette please read this when you are a teenager)
I thought Juliette's head was going to spin around while she puked green vomit at us last night during one hell of a tantrum. I got her from Cindy's and had to wake her up from her nap so she was a little cranky and just wanted to be held so we cuddled for a while before heading home. When we got out of the car she said she wanted to give me a hug again so I did, then grabbed her bag from the other seat and she started screaming bloody blue murder in the driveway. She wouldn' stop. Sounded like she had been dipped in hot oil or something. I brought her upstairs and she started kicking and screaming, wouldn't tell us why she was crying, we stuck her in her room and she tore. it. up. Blankets and toys were flying everywhere. I really thought she was going to make herself throw up or crack her head or break something in her room. Finally after about 30 minutes she calmed down enough to tell us that she wanted her blue blanket (a ratty old blue dish towel she got from Cindy she has become attached to since she thinks it turns her into the Fairy Godmother). I was an awful mommy and left it at Cindy's house. Sue me. After Josh gave her one of our towels she was fine and we were able to go to the store and get her fish for the tank we got off craigslist.
I will not be forgetting the "blankie" again.

Not much
That about sums up what's going on this week in our household. We had our superbowl get together at a friend's house last night for which Josh dragged himself out of bed- poor guy has had a crappy year health wise and it seems to always hit him on Sundays and require him to stay in bed all day...hmmm. But really he was feeling disgusting all day and was trying to sleep it off whatever it was. Of course it was on the most testosterone pumped day of the year and he missed the dramatic ending and, because of the power outage, our dvr stopped before the end of the game :(. oh well.
Juliette is now asking us all the time what is real and what is pretend. She hasn't brought up the big guy in the red suit, but she'll ask about other things. She asked if Mickey was real or pretend and I told her when we go visit him she will see he is real. Amber is making her niece a countdown to Disney chart, but if I made one for Juliette there would be over 700 Mickey's and I don't have that kind of patience!
I have to scan the drawing she made the other day. She came over to me with her paper and said "Look I made an apple and here comes a bird to eat the apple and there's a bad guy trying to take the apple away from the bird."
I could clearly see the apple, bird, and 'bad guy" she drew. Poor guy....he only had a head, body, and one leg. He must have been really bad! :) I was pretty impressed since we've got kindergarten kids who can't explain their drawings that well.
