Early Birthday Present
Wohoo! Nothing to do with Juliette, but Josh got me my birthday present last weekend- thankfully we were off for him to hop on Ticket Master to snag them. I am FINALLY going to get to see New Kids on the Block. Hahahahahaha....20 years later than I would have liked, but still happening :). We had the trading cards, buttons, dolls, tapes--oh yeah no cds back them--I had the bed spread, sheets, and pillowcases so I could sleep on my Joey or Jordan :). I remember for my birthday party one year we got a tape (yes again...tape..no dvds either however did we live through it) of their concert. Ahhh memories.

Church
Well we did it. We took Juliette to mass at Saint Matthews and crossed our fingers she would behave. She was perfect! She didn't speak above a whisper, only moved around once, and stood up and sat down whenever she was supposed to! She said she liked the singing best.

Snow Days!
Yay for the first snow days since 2011! We had yesterday and today off for about 1.5 inches of the white stuff which wouldn't even mean a delay in Abington. I'm not complaining though. As soon as Juliette woke up and saw the snow she wanted to get all dressed and go out and play. It took some convincing for her to eat her breakfast and then I suited her up. She started laughing that she couldn't put her arms down so I know I did it right :). She made some great snow angels- the right way this time! We came in and all had some hot chocolate. We went out to lunch and by the time we got home and were ready to go out and play again, most of it had melted. Oh well. Juliette has gone back to playing picnic with us and loves when it rains on her "picnic grounds" so we have to move the picnic to another room.

Chuck E Cheese
We spent our day off at the one place parents hate the most, but where a kid can be a kid. Chuck E Cheese. Juliette had a great time running around shouting "Let's play another game!" She liked the ones that just spewed out tickets when you pressed a button or hit a target, but her aiming skills are not exactly stellar. There was a frog game she must have played 5 times where you made the frog hop across logs. On a side note she loves this shirt and loves putting up the hood.
Check out my tokens!
Look at my tickets!!!!!!
Turning in her tickets gangsta style with her hood up

Princess Party
We had the princess party at Courtland High again this weekend. Last year she went as Snow White, this year she was Cinderella. I thought it was better last year, but Juliette had a ball and didn't notice a difference. She got to see all her favorite girls, did a great job of coloring her crown, had fun playing in the princess castles (maybe I should set up her tent again) and loved playing the games--probably because she got candy.
Meg and Hercules
Ariel
Esmerelda from Hunchback
Sleeping Beauty- but don't let Juliette her you call her that. She tells us now "That is Princess Aurora."
Rapunzel
Her three faves all in one place!
She just kept staring at Cinderella and then she asked Juliette is she would like a hug. Well that was all she needed and ran right into her arms.
Staring up in awe as Tiana signs her book.
The historically inaccurate Disney version of Pocahontas and John Smith
Snow White
I couldn't figure out who the skanky princess in booty shorts was, but Josh looked at the book and it was Ken and Barbie. Random appearances at a princess party!
A racially ambiguous Princess Jasmine
She couldn't wait to see the fairies.
Dorothy protected her from the witch
She did a pretty good job of coloring her crown!
Snack time! To make sure kids didn't go back for more cookies (gasp), they made a slash mark on her hand with a black marker. She didn't appreciate that.
By this time, she was not interested in sitting in front of the "enchanted forest" to have her picture taken!
She loved story time and sat through almost the whole basket, even going up to the fairy to suggest a book she should read! HAHAHA! Her sitting quietly gave me the chance to talk to a girl I used to teach with who was pregnant the year I was home with J. Her daughter is in the green fairy costume siting next to Juliette. Her mom said she was afraid of the princesses..poor thing.
All better
It was a long time coming, but the Long family is all healthy again! Juliette got it, I got it, then Josh got it. Juliette just couldn't get rid of her fever for 3 days. Thankfully by the time I got it I only had a half day of school and then the weekend to recover. Josh was in bed all day last Sunday with a fever. Here she is giving Daddy a check up with her doctor bag.

Oh what a night
Well that certainly hasn't happened in a long time. Talking about last night. We knew Juliette wasn't feeling well yesterday and sent her off to Cindy's with a dose of cough medicine and told her to call me if she was sick. I picked her up and she had a temp of almost 102, but Cindy said she had taken it after nap when she knew I was on my way anyway so off we went to the doctor. Juliette has an ear infection so we have a 10 day cycle of the pink bubblegum stuff (can't spell it---you know what it is). When we put her to bed Josh told her to say a prayer to feel better- She said "Dear God, make me feel better." Then she coughed and said "Oh noooo! It didn't work!" Cutest. Kid. Ever.
I went to bed at 10:30 and just kept hearing her cough so Josh wanted to bring her into bed with us. I went and got her and gave her more Mucinex and put her in bed with us. Now the only time she lays in bed with us is to watch TV so she thought it was party time. I knew it was going to happen, but Josh wanted her with us so I didn't say anything. One hour goes by. Then two. She was bouncing and complaining about not being able to breathe and just generally not feeling good. She couldn't suck her thumb and breathe at the same time. Poor kid. I was upset because she wasn't getting the rest she needed either were we) so finally at around 1:30 Josh took her back to her bed and she fell right to sleep.
I am a mess this morning. When I went to get a coffee the nice new worker at Panera took one look at me and said "Ma'am <I'm a ma'am now apparently> I'm going to give you a double shot of expresso- no charge." I must have looked horrible. Apparently I have a very high tolerance for expresso somehow because it's been two hours and I am still dragging my ass. Oh well. Tomorrow I will be home with her- today Josh is with her.

New Year's Eve
Juliette was all dressed up for New Year's Eve with Rachel but was not happy getting her picture taken in her cute outfit. We also finally, finally got her to take some of her toys out of her bed so here are all her princesses in a mosh pit on the kitchen floor. She is now able to actually move in her bed.
Playdate
The girls hadn't seen each other in over a week so we went over to Kevin and Amber's house so they could play. Juliette and Amelia are so cute together. Amelia couldn't wait to show her the Woody doll she had gotten for Christmas and Juliette had fun trying out her digital camera. Natalie is in the background following them around like a puppy. I had to include a picture of her close up since she is so stinking cute. As you can see, they all had fun painting. Juliette kept asking to paint more and more.
