Camping at Jellystone

Since we didn't have her birthday party this past weekend, we got to do something else for a change. We went down to Gloucester to Jellystone Park just for one night to try it out. The Evans and Cottoms had been there since Friday and it sounded like we got there just in time for the perfect weather. Friday it was all mud and Saturday it was freezing. Sunday was gorgeous, but a little brisk when we got there at 10. As soon as she saw the park Juliette wanted to go check it out. We played for a while and then she wanted to go to the pool. It took some convincing to get her to wait until after lunch when it warmed up a little more. The water was still icy, but it's like kids' skin is not affected by it at all! She loved the little water slide.

Not a fan of the bounc pillow---I don't blame her.
John Ellis would have been perfectly happy spending the whole weekend jumping! Andrea asked me if Juliette ever asks about him and why he acts different. Nope. He's just part of our "family" and she accepts him like all of us.

 Tie dying shirts!
Ok I know Nana is going to freak out when she sees this picture! She was perfectly safe and it was low tide so there was only a little water below the dock.

Hahahahaha trying to get Eddie out of the road.

Again...perfectly safe. Josh told her to count one two three four and then take the marshmellow away from the fire.

Our cooks for the morning made themselves a pancake bacon wrap :)

She was so serious about making her magic wand from Aunt Mari. She couldn't wait for the glitter to dry so we could add the jewels. She was actually pretty good with the glitter and it didn't get all over the table like I thought.
Our first dip in her princess pool!

My

Soccer party!

This was the first year that I decided I didn't want to do a party for Juliette in our backyard. I booked the Field House for a soccer party and we coudn't have had a better day. All the kids had fun- no melt downs, no issues. Juliette was so excited to see all her friends and run around. When you think about it an hour is a long time for a group of 2-7 year olds to be running non stop, but they did it!

Our little guys eventually warmed up and had a great time with the balls.

                                                                      Go Mallie!!

waiting patiently for directions!

My dad had a little buddy attached to him during the party- my friend's son Xavier fell in love :)

Yeah...Kelley taught Eddie how to fetch like a dog and after seeing him do this, Andrew started!

FOOD! CAKE!! PRESENTS!!!!

She wanted baby Cinderella so badly- she was very glad to get it from Nana :)

Group shot!! The only ones missing are Andrew and Natalie.
Juliette, Xavier, Mallie, Emilie, Ben, Tommy, Analiese, Amelia, and Eddie

No Rules

Juliette has figured out that when Nana and Pop Pop are here....there are no rules. Josh and I went out last night and she asked Nana for "something else" which means she wants a snack. Mom asked her if she wanted Pirate Booty and she just said " Well....mommy and daddy aren't here...so yes!"
Little stinker knew we wouldn't have let her have it before bed. This weekend is going to be nuts with two birthday parties--her's included-- and a spring festival we are going to try to squeeze in before the party Saturday and the Greek Festival is going on this weekend so we might try to hit that too. This is the first time I've had her party outside of our backyard and I'm happy I did that because the weather doesn't look like it's going to cooperate this weekend for our normal outside birthday activities. She's having a soccer party at the field house where she's taken soccer the last few years. The best part is all I have to bring is the cake. They are supplying everything else. Ahhhhh finally just to be able to relax and enjoy watching the kids play is going to be amazing. Having someone else in charge of rounding up all the little guys for games isn't going to suck either!! Saturday's party is for Andrea's youngest Andrew at the Children's Museum of Richmond.

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

I think the best part of this Mother's Day has been Juliette finally feeling a little better than she has the past few days. So starting last Wednesday it all went downhill. Josh was giving her a bath and found a tick on her back. He couldn't get it off and didn't want to break its head off so we ran to the clinic before it closed- we made it with 10 minutes to spare. The dr couldn't even get it off without breaking it....ended up breaking the tick so had to go digging in her skin and she was so good and didn't even flinch. Then Thursday morning she woke up with a god awful cough and we went back to the dr- this time her pediatrician. She said just give J Benadryl. Ok. Friday she was worse and had an awful night. Saturday Josh took her back to our doctor and she threw up all over the exam room. Oh! I forgot. Friday she woke up from her nap and said she needed Nana to come take care of her. Fast forward to today and Nana is here to the rescue. She told Nana " guess what happened at the doctor? I totally spit stuff all over the place!" hahahahaha. Yesterday she finally got some rest and slept from noon until four and last night she had a great night. The amoxycillan (spelling?) really seems to be making a difference. Her appetite is awful still, but it will come back.

So with Nana here Juliette will stay home tomorrow just for one more day and then go back to Cindy's. This is also the first Mother's Day I've had with mom since before we got married.

Here is my present that Josh has been teasing me about and telling everyone about for weeks! Got a little choked up when I saw it finally. I'll have to take a picture of this beside mine. They are so much alike.
